Romantic journey in Puerto Banus, Marbella

Getting lost in the old town of Marbella, eating near the beach or enjoying a lovely sunset are some of many options that our e-commerce Manager Juan María Jimenez recommends to enjoy an unforgettable Valentine's Day along with your loved one. Here is a diverse agenda of fun things to do in the city during those dates:

Photo by cosmicgirl1960We begin in Puerto Banus by eating breakfast in Salduba, a pub/cafeteria a stroll away from the hotel alongside the yacht port, a must.

We then continue enjoying the morning with a walk (and shopping why not?) in Puerto Banus. If it's Saturday, don't miss out the market by the bull fighting arena where you will find a great variety in clothes, accessories, gifts, antiquities... . Another option would be to visit the old town of Marbella full of museums, historical streets, the town hall...

For lunch, stop by La Pesquera, near the frog fountain, or you can sink into Spanish tradition with the typical (and delicious) tapas in the usual bars: el Estrecho, el Tonelito...

After crossing the park, La Alameda, you'll get to the beach promenade through Avenida del Mar, full of sculptures designed by Salvador Dalí. The promenade is full of bars and cafeterias and you cannot leave it without first stopping by La Biblioteca to grab a coffee.

If you keep walking in the direction of Algeciras (6kms), you will get back to Puerto Banus. You can also go back to Alameda to grab a cab or bus crossing all the Golden Mile. In this area, you will see the palace of the King Fahd, a copy of the White House in Washington (or at least on the outside) built on an artificial platform to have amazing views of the beach. It is not open to visitors as it is still inhabitated.

To wrap up, what better plan than a romantic dinner at a restaurant in Puerto Banus? The most fashionable area is La Sala Banus (even Alberto of Monaco has been there!). You can also enjoy delicious Italian food in Da Bruno Ristorante, or exquisite Indian food in the classic Khran. After dinner, don't forget a nice drink in El Sinatra.

If you prefer moving by car, el Pinsapar del Juanar, in Ojén (about 25 kms from Puerto Banus) is a natural reserve, ideal to go deep into nature. Finally, Ronda, 45 kms, is a breath taking city with views to the Tajo River.

As you can see, it is impossible to get bored during the romantic days in Puerto Banus, now it's your turn, do you have your own romantic agenda in this city? We'd love to hear all about it!
